The Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program at Hofstra University is part of the New York Doctor of Audiology Consortium, a collaboration between Hofstra, Adelphi, and St. John's Universities. This four-year, full-time program offers students access to the combined resources, faculty, and clinical partnerships of all three institutions. Graduates are eligible for certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and New York State licensure in audiology.
The AuD curriculum encompasses coursework and clinical practicum experiences covering all aspects of audiologic practice. Students are trained to perform a wide range of diagnostic and remedial services within the audiology scope of practice, with an emphasis on cultural and linguistic diversity. A clinical research project proposal is also a requirement for each student.
Hofstra University provides state-of-the-art facilities for audiology students, including the Speech and Hearing Lab I, which features an audiometric sound booth, audiometer, and tympanometer for hearing assessments. The Speech and Hearing Lab II is equipped with advanced tools for evaluating balance disorders related to the vestibular system, such as Videonystagmography (VNG) and Electronystagmography (ENG) equipment, as well as a rotary chair for comprehensive assessments. Additionally, the Anatomage Lab offers a 3D anatomy system for detailed anatomical studies.
The AuD program at Hofstra University attracts a diverse student body. While specific demographic data for the program is not readily available, the university's commitment to cultural and linguistic diversity is evident in its curriculum and clinical training. The program emphasizes sensitivity to diverse populations, preparing students to serve a wide range of communities effectively.

Although we could tier rank, over the past 25 years we've found no compelling benefit for ranking schools. Students are most successful when they prioritize personal and academic fit over school rank.
