About the School

Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine's Southern Utah campus (RVUCOM-SU) is located in Ivins, Utah, approximately 15 minutes from downtown St. George. Established in 2017, RVUCOM-SU operates as an additional location of the Colorado-based Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine. The campus is situated on a 32-acre site adjacent to the Southern Utah Veterans Home, providing students with opportunities for community engagement and clinical experience.

Curriculum

The Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program at RVUCOM-SU spans four years of full-time academic and clinical education. The first two years focus on preclinical studies conducted on campus, integrating case-based learning to build a strong foundation in biomedical sciences. The subsequent two years are dedicated to clinical education, where students participate in clerkship rotations across various medical specialties. These rotations are designed to equip students with hands-on experience and prepare them for diverse medical careers.

Facilities

RVUCOM-SU boasts a state-of-the-art, two-story, 104,000-square-foot academic building designed to complement the natural scenery of the area. The facility includes two 200-seat lecture halls, three seminar rooms, 36 small-group study rooms, a clinical skills and osteopathic principles and practice (OPP) lab, a full dissection gross anatomy lab, a multipurpose lab, a simulation center featuring an operating lab, emergency lab, and labor and delivery lab, standardized patient rooms, and a 9,000-square-foot library. Additionally, a 23,000-square-foot medical office building across the street houses administrative offices and a future medical clinic, further enhancing the campus's educational resources.
