About the School

The University of Arizona's Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program is a four-year course of study and clinical training designed to prepare students for clinical careers in audiology. The program meets all academic and clinical requirements for certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Arizona Department of Health Services. Students engage in both on-campus and off-campus clinical practica, gaining comprehensive experience in the field. Curriculum

The AuD curriculum encompasses coursework in hearing science and the diagnosis and treatment of hearing and balance disorders across the lifespan. Facilities

Students gain practical experience through the department's on-site hearing clinic and various off-campus affiliated clinics in Tucson. During the first three years, students participate in clinical rotations, spending between 4 and 16 hours per week in diverse settings, including hospitals, clinics, and private practices. The fourth year is dedicated to a full-time externship, which can be completed locally or across the United States, providing extensive hands-on training.
