About the School

The University of Louisville offers a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program through its School of Medicine, designed to equip students with the academic and clinical expertise necessary for audiologic practice. Curriculum

The Au.D. curriculum spans four years, beginning with a focus on classroom instruction and gradually increasing clinical exposure. In the first year, students engage in courses such as Anatomy and Physiology of Hearing, Essential Techniques in Audiometry, and Acoustics and Speech Acoustics, complemented by initial clinical clerkships. The final year is dedicated to full-time clinical externships, providing comprehensive hands-on experience in diverse audiologic settings.

Facilities

The University of Louisville's audiology program offers students a variety of clinical placements both on and off-site. Students are immersed in clinical practice from the first semester, observing at on-site clinics, and are encouraged to actively participate in clinical practicum starting in the second semester. As students progress, they are placed at off-site clinic placements throughout Louisville and its surrounding cities, allowing them a diverse and comprehensive range of clinical experiences.
