About the School

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) offers a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program through its Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, located within the College of Allied Health in Oklahoma City. This program is the only one of its kind in Oklahoma and is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. The accreditation is valid from March 1, 2017, through February 28, 2025. In 2021, U.S. News & World Report ranked the program 36th in the nation.

Curriculum

The Au.D. curriculum at OUHSC spans four years and includes comprehensive coursework in audiology, extensive clinical practicum experiences, and a one-year full-time externship. Students engage in both didactic learning and hands-on clinical training, covering areas such as diagnostic audiology, hearing aid technology, balance assessment, and tinnitus management.
