The University of Southern Mississippi offers a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program through its School of Speech and Hearing Sciences, located on the Hattiesburg campus. To graduate, students must pass a qualifying exam in the second year, a comprehensive exam in the third year, and the national Praxis II examination in Audiology.
The program provides access to state-of-the-art facilities, including the USM Speech-Language-Audiology Clinic, which has been serving the community for over 50 years. This clinic offers assessment and treatment services for a diverse range of speech and hearing disorders and serves as a training ground for students under the supervision of certified faculty. Additionally, students have opportunities to observe and assist in the DuBard School and The Children's Center, enhancing their clinical experience.
