The University of Texas at Dallas offers a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program through its School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, consistently ranked among the top in the nation. The program is accredited by both the Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education (ACAE) and the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA). Its mission is to prepare students for clinical practice by providing comprehensive education and training in the identification, diagnosis, and management of hearing and balance disorders across the lifespan.
The AuD curriculum spans four years and integrates academic coursework with extensive clinical training. Students begin clinical rotations in their first semester, gaining experience at the UT Dallas Callier Center for Communication Disorders and various off-site locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The program emphasizes evidence-based practice, critical evaluation of research, and interprofessional collaboration. Additionally, students have opportunities to engage in faculty-led research projects, often leading to presentations at professional conferences.
The program is housed within the Callier Center for Communication Disorders, a state-of-the-art facility that combines clinical services, research, and graduate training. The center provides students with access to advanced equipment and diverse patient populations, enhancing their clinical competencies. The Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education has recognized the program's facilities and equipment as strengths, contributing to its continued accreditation through March 31, 2035.
The AuD program admits approximately 13 to 15 new students each year from a competitive pool of applicants. Over the past several years, the number of applicants has ranged from approximately 75 to 120. The program seeks students who demonstrate responsibility for learning, resilience, and interest in activities such as community engagement, advocacy, and research. The faculty comprises internationally acclaimed audiologists and hearing scientists who actively participate in teaching, research, publishing, and professional activities.

Although we could tier rank, over the past 25 years we've found no compelling benefit for ranking schools. Students are most successful when they prioritize personal and academic fit over school rank.
