The program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Admission is competitive, requiring a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 credit hours, though a GPA of 3.5 or higher is strongly recommended. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in any field and complete both the CSDCAS application and the WSU Graduate School application by February 1.

Curriculum

The AuD curriculum encompasses a minimum of 88 credit hours, integrating didactic coursework with continuous clinical practicum. Students engage in interprofessional learning with other health disciplines and participate in critical thinking seminars to bridge academic knowledge with clinical practice. The program includes a mentored research project and culminates in a full-time, one-year supervised residency in a hospital, clinic, or other audiology practice environment. Prerequisite coursework includes American Sign Language, aural rehabilitation, and early language development, which can be completed prior to or after admission.
