What do you like most?

BCM has been doing the 1.5 year basic science, 2.5 year clinicals curriculum for years now. It is extremely student friendly and lends itself to a lot of flexibility, which is very helpful for succeeding in USMLE prep and residency planning.

1.5 year preclinicals, flexibility in scheduling, dedication to teaching of attendings, amazing clinical facilities

The 1.5 year pre-clinical curriculum is amazing. Exceptional Step 1 scores prove it. World-class faculty and classmates. School is surrounded by renowned hospitals.

Superior basic science and clinical curriculum. 3 afternoons off per week, and only 1.5 yr of basic sciences. AMAZING faculty within a structured mentoring program. Also, the class composition is mostly relaxed and easy going yet studious.
What do you like least?

Though the student body is overall collaborative, BCM still has a very competitive atmosphere. Maybe this is the case wherever you go, but I've always felt that expectations from faculty are set extremely high.

The parking. But the public transportation system is adequate if you leave reasonably close.

The summers here can get hot and muggy since it is tropical weather.

Our match goes pretty well each year. It helps that we have had the highest average STEP I score in the nation the past several years.

Extremely well. Our match list this year was outstanding. Many students choose to stay in Texas, but those who wanted competitive programs on the East and West coast had no problems getting them.
