  • 7 core clerkships (Psych, Neuro, Medicine, Surgery, Family med, Peds, OB/Gyn) and 3 required Sub-Internships in the 4th year (Medicine, Ambulatory, Critical Care or Surgical). Not much outpatient exposure if assigned to the Birmingham campus. Also very heavy on the specialty and subspecialty exposure and minimal primary care/bread & butter type exposure. If you want more primary care and on-one-one teaching then a branch campus for clinical years is your best bet.
