What do you like most?

  • Great third and fourth year rotations. Faculty love to teach. University Hospital sees the worst of the worst in pathology. Culture is student-friendly and as a student you are expected to be hands-on and actively involved in patient care. You'll spend very little time standing in the corner shadowing. You will be well-prepared to become a great resident. Other things I love: flexible schedule MS1 & 2 with mostly optional attendance and recorded video lectures, 4th year is 100% electives, class collaboration and morale is great, MS2 ends in February thus giving you 4 months of extra time to do things like early rotations, step study, vacation, and research.

What do you like least?

  • Class is very large (~210s). Even after four years I still don't know all my classmates. Also, the "new" preclinical curriculum (2012) is mostly very good, but there's a handful of required team-based exercises every week that I felt were minimally helpful.
