What impressed you positively?

Facilities. Dedication to education.

What impressed you negatively?

Closed-file interviews. The same questions get asked. We and they spend a lot of time and effort to get to these interviews. It's a waste to be asked the same questions in both interviews. No mention of research at all. I knew they emphasized the education aspect of their school but I also know they have fairly strong research programs in certain areas (e.g. EMS) and these weren't mentioned at all. I left with the impression they may actually be against research during med school.

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

I don't like having TWO closed-file interviews.

What are your general comments?

Student interview was great. Faculty interview left me with a negative impression. Like another reviewer said, the closed-file nature of the interview made the the faculty questions seem very pointed and attacking and made me somewhat defensive. This is my first experience with closed-file interviews so far and I don't agree that it works as well as they claim. I think the first interview should be a student interview, which can be closed-file. But the faculty interview should be open-file, and second, so you don't feel like you're repeating yourself. What's the point of 2 interviews if you're answering the same questions in both interviews?
