💬 Interview Questions

What is one of the specific questions they asked you?

Have you done any research? And when (what month of what year) did you decide to become a dentist?
How would you deal with diversity?
What do you do that doesn't relate to dentistry at all - what was the last book you read?

What was the most interesting question?

I was asked how I would "deal with diversity", which I think is a strange way of putting it.

What was the most difficult question?

The most difficult part was coming up with exact dates for everything I had done in the pretaining to dentistry, volunteering, and life. I kind of think that an open file would have made the faculty interivew more informative, because we wouldn't have had to go over all of that specific stuff.

✅ Interview Preparation and Impressions

How is the friendliness of the admissions office?

No responses

How is the responsiveness of the admissions office?

No responses

How did you prepare for the interview?

I didn't really prepare - I think you have to be yourself, and I've already been accepted wuite a few places so I've had previous experience interviewing and wasn't very nervous either.

What impressed you positively?

I am amazed that so many people have come away with such negative impressions of UCSF I really thought that t was great. I thoght that the clinics were really nice , as well as the campus. I like the fact that it feels like a little "health care village", and I loved being surrounded by other people who have passion for science and health care whether it be medicine, pharmacy, nursing or dentistry. I also really liked the gym!

What impressed you negatively?

The pre-clinics are not that great, but everything else is top notch. Also, they speak a lot about diversity, yet the majority of students (and interviewees) are asian. There did not seem to be a very high number of underrepresented minorities, they just replaced all of the white kids with asians.

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

That it really is a great school. Make sure you don't take other people's opinions to heart too much. You really have to see a place for itself.

What are your general comments?

I think I've seaid enough already!

What are your suggestions for the admissions office?
