⭐ Overall Impressions

What was the stress level of the interview?

5 out of 10
0 = Low Stress, 10 = High Stress

What are your general comments?

The student interview was great. I felt we had a rapport withing minutes of meeting. Very laid back and relaxed. Told me up front that I shouldn't be stessed out that he just wanted to learn about me. Faculity interview was a bit stressful. My interviewer vollied question after question, some difficult some standard, one after another with little follow-up to each inital question. I wasn't asked to elaborate on any particular question but I couldn't get a good read on him because he didn't show any emotions really.
💬 Interview Process

What is one of the specific questions they asked you?

Why dentistry?

What was the most interesting question?

None impressed me, they were all standard questions. "What would your mother say about you if she were here?" was a little unusual.

How did you prepare for the interview?

UCSF website, SDN, application, secondary app.

What was the most difficult question?

"Why don't you want to go into medicine?"

What impressed you positively?

Facilities were nicer than I expected. Clinics are beautiful looking out towards the pacific ocean. The staff and students were VERY nice and accomidating. The school is top-notch for sure. I like that the dental school is attached to the med school/ hospital. It is a bustling, intoxicating atmosphere of academia and learning. Also, all the other applicants I met were quite nice and talkative. Overall it was a fun visit.

What impressed you negatively?

Nothing. Great school.

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

Nothing new discovered.
