What impressed you positively?

The Penn faculty and staff were extremely kind and friendly. After my interview, I went to observe my friend who's a 4th year dental student at Penn in the main clinic. While I was there, three of the faculty members came up to me and started chatting. We talked about everything and anything from my interview and what I liked about Penn to their ages and how young they still felt :) It was pretty funny.

What impressed you negatively?

It hurts to even think about the cost of tuition. But during our lunches, the students were honest in staying they felt the tuition is worth a well-rounded education at Penn, especially if you don't know what you want to specialize in the future. Penn offers strong programs in general dentistry, specialty, teaching, and research. But they weren't able to agree on the fact that Penn's tuition is worth paying if you KNOW you want to go into general practice.

What are your general comments?

My interview was unconventionally casual. My interview time slot was during the time my interviewer was overseeing the 4th year student dental clinic. He pulled up two chairs in the middle of the clinic (no room) and we started talking. I was only asked one question, "why dentistry?". He asked me to put on a gown and we walked around the clinic observing the dental students. We joked, laughed....very cool.
