"why mcphs"
"Why MCPHS?"
"Why pharmacy/MCPHS-Worcester?"
"Why Pharmacy?"
"How do I think I would fit in on campus? "
"Being that I am not a pharmacist (I have a biochem degree), explain why you want to be a pharmacist (having read your personal statement)."
"why pharmacy, why Mass."
"Why I wanted to be a pharmacist, and not a doctor"
"What was your most difficult class and why?"
"why pharmacy"
"Why Pharmacy?"
"Why didn't you choose to come Massachusetts for your undergraduate studies? (since I told her that I like Mass.)"
"What do you do to handle stress and how do you manage your time?"
"Do I like working in groups with other students when studying? "
"MCPHS' accellerated program is considered fairly stressful because of the lack of vacations - explain to me how you handle stress and what you do to relax from it?"
"what kinds of things do you do to handle stress"
"How I handled stress"
"why mcp?"
"Why would you want to come to MCPHS and not another pharmacy school?"
"Do you feel that you will take on leadership roles at MCP?"
"If you know that you have 2~3 exams coming up on this certain day, what would you do? how would you manage your time?"
"What do you have to bring to the program?"
"What was my most difficult class? "
"Why MCPHS Worcester?"
"what field or specialty of pharmacy are you interested in"
"How I thought I would do in their program"
"how do you handle stressful situations?"
"Mrs. Jones brings her 4-year old into a pharmacy in which i'm the pharmacist around 8:30pm and Amanda (the pharm tech) helps her find OTC ear infection meds for her. Mrs. Jones goes home and calls the pharmacy at 8:58pm (the pharmacy closes at 9Pm) Amanda gave her the wrong medication and she's upset and yelling and the baby's crying. What do you do and tell Mrs. Jones? What do you do and tell to Amanda (who has a history of directing people to the wrong medications before)?"
"what was the most difficult class you took and why"
"Because I worked in a retail pharmacy, the interviewer asked me what I would do in a situation with an angry customer."
"How old are you? @@""
"Other than your listed volunteer work, what else do you like to do? (ok, i admit, i wasn't completely prepared for this question- funny, since it's a pretty simple question!!!)"
"Why pharmacy over medicine? What I did not like about working in a retail pharmacy?"
"Do you have any questions for me? =)"
"why massachusetts and not other program?"
"Why I chose pharmacy over medicine"
"Why do you want to be a pharmacist?"
"Nothing really INTERESTING but i guess "tell us why you would be able to handle a vigerous 3 year program?""
"nothing really, all typical, expected questions"
"What i could bring to the campus. (i never like this question and i always feel dumb and repetitive answering it)"
"what would you have done differently in your most difficult class"
"There really was nothing difficult about the interview. If you know yourself, use this site, and practice answering some expected questions, you will do great! "
"Besides what you just said, what else do you know about pharmacy/our school?"
"why pharmacy?"
"What else did I not like about pharmacy?... It was hard because I used the good one for the first question."
"Why MCPHS?"
"hmmm... why pharmacy?"
"What I felt about patient counseling practices at my former jobs?"
"how do you deal with stressful situations?"
"Browsed this website, reviewed questions with the pharmacists at my work."
"research the school"
"SDN, book about interviewing, reviewed my personal statment, reviewd internet sites about the area, made an outline of expected questions and answers. "
"Read SDN, the school website, know myself and my future goals."
"SDN and web searches for professional interview tips"
"I had a mock interview at my school and I read up on MCP. Also, I went on sdn. "
"Got enough sleep. Got there way early. Had a great meal at Snoodles Deli (Go there, get the Lobster Bisque!!) And just made sure I knew my own resume and personal statement. Also SDN Forums of course."
"this site"
"Looked at sdn, researched online, looked at their website"
"Know yourself and what you want out of life."
"read up on the school and from previous interview experiences i gained lots of practice"
"practiced interview responses"
"Everyone was really enthusiastic and nice."
"awesome facilities and staff "
"The professors were very nice and accomadating. They made me feel at home. The visit was very organized. The school is state-of-the art. The computers and classroom technolgy is the best. "
"Friendly faculty and new facililties. And they treat you as if you are already one of their students."
"the college is great. everything is new, built in 2000. everyone is friendly and the school is small to allow more one-on-one communication."
"The professors were all extremely nice and down to earth. One professor even tried adding in a little joke. "
"Amidst the ghetto'ness of Worcester (renovations) the MCPHS building is definately fairly new and impressive. They are adding another building next to it for a new program as well as student housing."
"staff was very nice"
"People were very friendly, even students and faculty we passed by said hi to me and were very nice. Also the program seems really good"
"The friendly staff and faculty."
"The interviewer was the director of admissions. She was extremely nice and friendly. First she gave a tour of the brand new building and made everything comfortable and eased the tension and nervousness."
"Hearing about the huge class sizes and looking at the giant lecture halls in which all of the classes will take place"
"none"
"Nothing! "
"The town of Worcester..I thought it's going to be somehow like Boston..but it wasn't. Well indeed it's a good town to focus on your school."
"the area the school is in is not great, in fact, not good. but there are tons of things to do outside the city (ie: boston) and a train right by the school for affordable transportation."
"Nothing really. "
"Small small library. I dunno, I'm spoiled by UC San Diego's Geisel and Biomed Library. They were a second home to me. =)"
"the construction of the new conjoined apartment building which will open 2005"
"To find out that some of the classes are done via teleconfrencing/through a camera. And that my interviewer knew so little about computer needs of students."
"Nothing."
"nothing"
"this (SDN) website!"
"I can't stress enough that questions asked are based on what you wrote in your personal statemet and application. So be prepared for that!"
"Know more about pharmacy and their school and work harder on my essay."
"The things that I learned during the interview were most of the questions that I had planned on asking! I was prepared for the inner-city area, and for the questions asked of me. Research the school and area and the rest will get filled in during your visit/interview."
"Nothing. I was well-prepared. "
"Nothing. All good."
"i was prepared"
"see above"
"nothin i was fully prepared no surprises "
"I was really nervous prior to the interview since MCPHS is the largest pharmacy school in the world and have students from over 30 countries, I assumed that they would be very picky . However the faculty was really frienly and put me at ease. So just try to be yourself and you'll be fine."
"I arrived at the school about a half hour early. I signed in at the front desk, and I talked with some of the other applicants. We were greeted by two professors. They took us in to a classroom and showed us a powerpoint presentation about the school, the program, rotations, residencies, and the city of boston. The presentation was very organized. Next, we were asked to do a short writing sample about an article that was provided. After this we split up into individual interviews with a faculty member. The interview itself was stress free. The faculty memeber that I interviewed with was down to earth. She reviewed my application ahead of time and had several questions ready for me. If you had something interesting written in your personal statement, be prepared to answer questions about that. This is also to your advantage because it gives you a lot to talk about. After the interview, there was a tour of the school. As you will see, everything is brand new. Computers and classoroom technology is state-of-the art. Finally, the day ended with questions. Overall, my experience at the school was wonderful. The faculty members were friendly, the school is impressive, and the location is ideal. The school is located near several hospitals which is great for clinical experience. The city of Boston has so much to offer. "
"The interview was pretty easy-going. I arrived 25 minutes early and they put me on a campus tour with two of the 3rd year students. Then they took me to a professor's office to have my interview and it took about 40 minutes. At the end I have to write an essay but it was simple."
"the overall time i was in the school for the interview was 2 hours. it was a very friendly and positive atmosphere. there was a brief essay (30 min), one-on-one interview (30 min) and a tour (1 hour). This school is NOT for everyone. The students on this campus (worcester) are older (avg. 27-30) and there is not room to make mistakes with grades. a mistake in one class will set you back a FULL YEAR. since the school is so small, all of the students have the same schedule, and it is a year round program, so anything you have to retake will be with the next year's students. There is not a ton of stuff to do in the immediate area, so if this is important to you, keep looking. Personally, I LOVED this school. It suits me perfectly. The area is something I can deal with for two+ years of my life. The staff is very friendly, and they all have personal relationships with all of the students. This school is very accommodating to out of state students during the rotations. They allow two 5 week rotations to be done in your home town (state) if you desire. There seems to be a very good group of students and faculty working together as a well-oiled machine. Good choice for older, mature, serious students wishing to complete their PharmD in an accelerated program (2yrs, 9 months)."
"At MCP Boston, the day is structed. There is a specific amount of time for the interview (30 min.) and you can't go longer. Also, there was a writing portion. There was an article given and you had to comment on the article. Even though the writing time is 45 min, they only want you to write on 1 sheet of paper ( both sides) which is not bad. "
"Because it was Spring Break, the school was practically empty. I was interviewed by a Dr. Kerner (non Pharm D. - the biochem prof) and he was extremely helpful in answering every question. Unlike those in the past, he explained that there was no laptop requirement and the details to which the school was heading towards (from quarter system to semester system while maintaining the 3 year accellerated). I wish I could have spoken to some students, but I understand it was Spring Break. Overall, it was honestly the easiest interview I have been to. It literally only lasted a little over an hour (+ 1/2 hour for the essay which doesn't affect the interview - it's for future reference after you're accepted). G'luck all!"
"it was great but nothing that blew me away. there was no food service in the building (i.e. a snack shop type place). i was interviewed by the assistant dean who was a very nice, cool person. they make you write something which is something that you do at most interviews. what's the point of it?? we already wrote essays when we applied. they have some sort of virtual lecture where a camera links lectures from the manchester campus to the worcester campus."
"The overall experince went well. It was much more laid back than I had thought, the interviewer was nice (faculty member), but she didn't seem to know all the ins and outs of admissions (i.e. symbols on my transcripts, what type of PC I would need, etc)"
"This was a wonderful interview. The school is extremely welcoming and the people are phenomenol! Just relax and be yourself!"
"Overall it was wonderful. I interviewed on a thursday and by monday i received my acceptance letter. THe admissions staff was very nice and polite"
"really not stressful, just making sure i'm a normal person before accepting me i think"
