"What is the difference between a Shelter Vet and Clinical practice Vet?" More from this Member | Report Response

"How do you deal with stress?" More from this Member | Report Response

"Some kind of question about how I handled myself when I was overwhelmed by stuff I had to do and accomplish. It was worded strange so I answered pretty awkwardly." More from this Member | Report Response

"They asked a question about burnout and how I plan on trying to avoid getting burned out while in vet school" More from this Member | Report Response

"Do I learn best in lectures or at home? How about working in groups?" More from this Member | Report Response

"What options does a vet career have?" More from this Member | Report Response

"What was your hardest class?" More from this Member | Report Response

"Would you ever consider euthanizing a healthy animal?" More from this Member | Report Response

"If a breeder comes in with two puppies, and they didn't meet breed standards, so he can't sell them. Thus he wants you to euthanize them. He is one of your top clients. What do you say/do?" More from this Member | Report Response

"What role the veterinarian has in a shelter situation to decide what animals have to be put down" More from this Member | Report Response

"How is communication important in vet med?" More from this Member | Report Response

What is one of the specific questions they asked you (question 3)?

"What do you think about using live animals in surgery for training?" More from this Member | Report Response

"What is zoonosis? And after I answered they had me name a zoonotic disease and how it was transmitted and if it was common in OK." More from this Member | Report Response

"A family brings their pet in for an emergency but they only have $50 which wouldn't even cover preliminary tests. What do you do?" More from this Member | Report Response

"Do I think it is important to have diversity it a vet med school class?" More from this Member | Report Response

"What I thought about the use of animals in research." More from this Member | Report Response

"Something about advising clients how to transport animals safely." More from this Member | Report Response

"Do you think it is inappropriate for rural vets to dress down (aka cowboy boots, jeans, and a polo)?" More from this Member | Report Response

"They asked if they think a person who is not a vet should be able to, for example. float a horse's teeth. Basically a way of asking my opinion on the current teeth floating bill." More from this Member | Report Response

"All were pretty typical I thought. Did get on tangents about my family and my relationship (yes I mentioned it!)" More from this Member | Report Response

"Lots of 'life' questions... my biggest goal in life, my top 3 priorities, an accomplishment I was most proud of, etc." More from this Member | Report Response

What was the most difficult question?

"If a client was badmouthing one of your veterinarians, what would you do?" More from this Member | Report Response

"The difference between animal rights and animal welfare. It was hard for me not to state my opinion about it." More from this Member | Report Response

"In general, do you believe people are ignorant?" More from this Member | Report Response

"What do you hope to change in the field of vet. med.?" More from this Member | Report Response

"Probably Specific Question #1 and also the "tell me about yourself" because they also added "summarize your application to us", which was not how I had planned to answer that question, so it threw me off a bit." More from this Member | Report Response

"None were difficult to answer" More from this Member | Report Response

"They asked me to tell them about a time when I had to take a difficult stand or make an unpopular decision... pretty typical, but still hard to come up with something specific." More from this Member | Report Response

How did you prepare for the interview?

"I used a list of possible interview questions provided by the Pre-Vet Club. I responded to them out loud and then typed out a summary of my answer to look back on for future reference. I also used a lot of websites and YouTube videos for help with questions that I thought were difficult to answer." More from this Member | Report Response

"Mock interviews, old questions from pre-vet club, talking to current students." More from this Member | Report Response

"Pre-vet club sent out example questions." More from this Member | Report Response

"Interview feedback, asked vet students for advice, caught up on current events, and looked into state legislature involving vet med." More from this Member | Report Response

"SDN, interview feedback from other schools, having 3 previous interviews, talking with people both in the vet school and people interviewing" More from this Member | Report Response

"Looked at the website, scanned the local news, got and reviewed a list of common interview questions, read the "issues" section of AVMA" More from this Member | Report Response

"Looked on SDN and some other places for sample questions, reviewed current events (though I wasn't asked anything about that), and I practiced a lot." More from this Member | Report Response

What impressed you positively?

"They had the 4th year vet students come and bring you to your interviewers. My 4th year interviewer was very kind and encouraging and I enjoyed talking to him before and after the interview!" More from this Member | Report Response

"How laid back my interviewers were. They wanted it to be as stress free as possible." More from this Member | Report Response

"The interview was more like a conversation. I was immediately put at ease. It seemed like they were there to get to know me." More from this Member | Report Response

"Their answer to my question "Other schools brag about their 2 + 2 curriculum. Why do you think OSU's way of doing curriculum is better?" It actually was a very convincing answer" More from this Member | Report Response

"A lot of the questions were very conversational with the intent of getting to know you better. They were great about putting you at ease and making the interview a pleasant experience." More from this Member | Report Response

"Oh, I know a lot of people so it was great to have all the encouragement beforehand. The faculty is always really nice though." More from this Member | Report Response

What impressed you negatively?

"One of my interviewers was not very responsive. He never smiled and rarely looked at me when I was speaking. But the other two interviewers were very friendly and responsive so it wasn't a big deal." More from this Member | Report Response

"Nothing" More from this Member | Report Response

"I felt that some of my interviewers were not making an effort to ask me questions and get to know me. I had to do most of the talking. I ended up asking them questions, as a conversation starter, because they were not asking me anything!" More from this Member | Report Response

"Those stupid nametags never stick and it was awkwardly falling off my suit the whole time haha" More from this Member | Report Response

"nothing really." More from this Member | Report Response

"I have had some nonresponsive interviewers at OK before - very stoic - and that made it a bit harder for me. This time was better for that. Just don't let it get to you!" More from this Member | Report Response

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

"I was not really surprised by anything. The vet school was great about making sure you knew everything you needed to know ahead of time. It all went very smoothly." More from this Member | Report Response

"Nothing" More from this Member | Report Response

"The interviewers have your entire application except your grades and Test scores (GRE)." More from this Member | Report Response

"--" More from this Member | Report Response

"There were a few current students hanging out in the foyer to talk to you. Also, there are scheduled tours, however I didn't get a schedule and I missed the last one because I was already in my interview." More from this Member | Report Response

"I knew this, but I think other applicants should be aware: the interviewers can see your LORs, PS, exp. statement, and experiences. They can not see your GPA, GRE, or anything about classes you've taken." More from this Member | Report Response

What are your general comments?

"If you put in some time to prepare, you will be just fine! Just be honest and be yourself." More from this Member | Report Response

"I felt really good about the process and left with a positive impression. We got to talk to current students before and after the interview and also with fellow interviewees. Some interviewees didn't have things go as well as me, and I felt like who you interviewers were may be part of how you felt walking out that day." More from this Member | Report Response

"Again, they still do the 4 stacks of laminated cards things. also, the 3 people are a 4th year, a faculty member, and a local practicing vet." More from this Member | Report Response

"They have four colors of laminated cards face down on the table and have you pick one. You turn it over and read the question from the other side and then answer it. You do this 4-6 times I think. Then the interviewers ask their own questions." More from this Member | Report Response
