The first interview was with a guy from the college of science and we talked about everyday things, politics, etc. the 2nd interview was with a guy from the dental school and that was more about denistry. "I have to say, I drove over and there was a lot of construction going on on the highways so I got lost. I tried to call to get directions but the phone lines were not working which was annoying. I ended up showing up 5 minutes late. However it wasn't a big issue since the person interviewing me was late also. The school is very nice since it was just renovated and still in the process of being renovated. Some things seem a little disorganized but the kinks would be fixed once they finish moving into the new site. "
"Arrived about 15 minutes prior to my interview. First thing was the jacket fitting and I debated whether to put my nickname on it, but then decided against it. My interview picked me up and took me into the clinic. Firstly, he told me the cons of UDM which I admired since no school that I have visited previously would tell me why I shouldn't go there. Anyway, the interview was in the clinic and mostly I observed my interviewer tending to students and their patients. The actual interview was maybe only 5 minutes as I never really fully answered any questions that were asked since we were in such a bind for time. Then had lunch which my interviewer paid for and ate with the seniors. After lunch came back to the clinic to finish my interview. Then went home. Good times all around!"

"It started off by meeting the assistant admissions director, Ms Blackburn. She fit me up for a white lab coat and asked how I would like my name spelled on it - this was very cool and inspiring. Next I sat in a small waiting room designated for interviewees with a little glass wall. My interviewer (Dr. Berkowski) came and picked me up and we went down to the clinic to conduct our interview in one of the open bays, since he is not a perminant professor and does not have an office. The interview started off with a few general questions, why dentistry, strenghts/weaknesses, what would i do if i saw someone cheating (the correct answer to this question is to rat them out,... even though i'd have a hard time doing that. It messes up the grading curve and is unfair) , what would i do if i were failing a class in dental school , what would i do if i didn't get in, what if i COULD NOT be a dentist, what happened to my freshmen (low scores) year , ... that kind of stuff. After about 25-30 minutes of that, he took the rest of the hour telling me about UDM. everything about their specialty programs, clinics, what they are and what they aren't (they are clinic, not research). in the middle of our interview students would come up and ask him questions (he is the clinical professor), so we'd go over to the patient, talk about the case, he show me things, and we went back to continue the interview - very relaxed setting. He took me on a tour of the school, and bought my lunch with two other dental students who told me their take of it. They seem to like it a lot, and say it's very challenging, and talked about the usual class/professor venting about the things they dont like. After the lunch we went back to the clinic and met back up with the interviewer, asked me for any questions, told me specificially that he is going to "endorse me", and was impressed with how things went. Then he walked me out the front door. "

I love that they are always keeping me updated on my application through the mail and also that the school itself never acts like its too good for anyone. For example, rather than saying "Your DAT score is too low for us, you'll never get in" they suggest that you probably were not as prepared as you could have been and they would like to see you take the test again and improve. YES ITS IN A BAD AREA but that is an asset because of all the patients that come to the school for care. You get an amazing clinical experience compared to other schools. I was accepted 3 days after my interview."
