What is one of the specific questions they asked you (question 2)?

"Why Barry?" Report Response

What was the most interesting question?

"Why Barry over NYCPM? You can just hop on the subway and go to the new york school. Wouldn't that be easier than coming all the way to florida?" Report Response

What was the most difficult question?

"Nothing, just smalltalk/light conversation." Report Response

How did you prepare for the interview?

"Wrote down a few questions to ask Marc Weiner." Report Response

What impressed you positively?

"The weather was very nice in late November. I thought Marc Weiner was a cool and friendly guy. Being part of a university is a plus." Report Response

What impressed you negatively?

"A lot of things. The school is located in a pretty dumpy area (little haiti I believe) and no one lives near the actual campus. I didn't think the facilities were very modern...look nice on the outside but inside pretty old. They have the new building almost done but it won't even contain the anatomy lab (the anatomy lab now is quite small and not modern). Expensive cost of living. The tour guide didn't know ANYTHING really about the podiatry program. Interview was a joke in all honesty, just smalltalk with a lawyer. It did not seem that they are strict at all with admissions (I believe everyone from my group was accepted with a scholarship). Furthermore, it seems everyone that applies gets an automated interview invite only a few hours after they send their application. I'm comparing this to DMU and AZPOD where you have much tougher admissions and a real interview experience (3 on 1). Some of the 2nd year classes are later in the evening because they utilize adjunct professors who work during the day and then come to Barry afterwards. Was told the first time pass rate on the part 1 boards was 96%....however, I know this is not true. DMU and AZPOD have the highest pass rates and Barry is definitely not in the same league as these schools. Attrition rate sucks in recent years (students failing out). Students I met told me the school is not very organized. " Report Response

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

"I didn't realize that miami shores was that crappy and that pretty much all students live away from the campus. " Report Response

What are your general comments?

"Day was kind of long because there is only one interviewer and we had 6 people in my group. Overall, I'm not very impressed with Barry's pod program. Out of the 8 schools, I rank it near the bottom along with NYCPM." Report Response
