He practices in Florida. Medicare is often the best payor in Florida and California. This is why I don’t live in Florida or California, though I’m sure a high volume efficient office based procedural practice could still do well in those states similar to callmeanesthesia

    SIJ injection tips

bringing this topic back up. One thing I find odd, is that several procedural atlases, will recommend moving the C-arm cranial and several atlases recommend moving the C-arm caudal. Several atlases recommend moving C-arm ipsilateral oblique and several recommend contralateral oblique. Same...

Are the IPSIS practice guidelines worth buying?

For $100 it is worth it for a fellow. But not essential. I trained with two ipsis presidents for contex. I’m a big fan of sis in general. The IPSIS courses are very worthwhile for a fellow. However the new IPSIS guidelines are worse than the first edition guidelines. The book is three times as...

    Oregon pain clinic defrauding insurers

I agree with you and disagree with steve. A patient with buttock pain that improves with ESI simply has a more mild radiculopathy than someone with pain radiating to the knee or beyond.

    New TPI restrictions?

Where do you practice? It seems you indulge your patients a bit too much. 1- If a patients family calls or want to do a phone call during a visit, my staff is trained to tell them I don't offer that. (Any family member is welcome to accompany any patient to an office visit, but I will not...

Wow. Only a hardcore liberal would be oblivious to all the people who were forced to take Covid tests or they would lose their jobs or lose 2 weeks of pay from their jobs.

Question regarding Midlevel Oversight and Billing

Agree with this. Don’t have the NP see the MBB f/u. Also agree the best use of mid levels is to see the patients you don’t want to see.

    Contaminated steroids case from 2012..

Wrong. Plenty of docs I know, purchased the preservative free steroid at a higher cost than depo, because they felt it was safer for the patient.

Since sympathetic block isn’t being paid I bill small joint injection, flouro guidance, and “other” nerve block code Still not great , but 3 codes that pay is better than one that doesn’t.
