Well, crime rates is high in a lot of cities including Los Angeles where I am from. But we just compared the number of crimes in KC and Joplin, and surprisingly Joplin has more even though they have less people (ex. Kansas City has ~6,000 crimes/per year for 100k people and Joplin has ~7,400...

I have a question for the people who live in Joplin. What are good areas to live in? I was told that Joplin has relatively high crime rates (and that's for alot of cities, not specifically Joplin). Ideally, I would like to find a place near the university and it's relatively safe to be in.

Is there an ideal time to take the MCAT, besides taking it when you are ready? Not the end of summer since many study during the summer?
