It is not a huge deal. I am just wondering why Joplin has so much crime for a smaller population. I am not familiar with Joplin. That's why I am concerned.

Well, crime rates is high in a lot of cities including Los Angeles where I am from. But we just compared the number of crimes in KC and Joplin, and surprisingly Joplin has more even though they have less people (ex. Kansas City has ~6,000 crimes/per year for 100k people and Joplin has ~7,400...
I have a question for the people who live in Joplin.
What are good areas to live in? I was told that Joplin has relatively high crime rates (and that's for alot of cities, not specifically Joplin). Ideally, I would like to find a place near the university and it's relatively safe to be in.
