    Neuromuscular fellowship application thread 2024

I didn't apply to UCSF, but I haven't heard from Mayo either. I've had invitations but no rejections yet. There are still several others on my list that I haven't heard from at all.

    Neuromuscular fellowship application thread 2024

Haven't seen any other thread up anywhere (there aren't very many of us), so with today being the first day programs can see our applications I thought I'd throw one up to see if anyone out there wants to discuss this current cycle.

Waiting to hear back for NIDDK, chose Columbia and Yale as my first choices. Good luck everyone!

Pretty much, yeah. Einstein waitlists wayyyy more people than most schools. I was placed on the HPWL and accepted a few weeks later.

It will probably vary with interviewers, but I would definitely be prepared to give a summary of your research project, and emphasize your contributions. It's a good skill to have to be able to explain difficult concepts quickly and concisely. I did not have a biomedical research background (my...

My biggest tip would be to know why you want to come to Einstein, especially as opposed to other NYC schools. I'm from out of state and got asked this, answered vaguely, and then got asked it again until my answer satisfied. Read over Einstein's website, talk about what you like about our...

Hello current applicants, this is probably pretty late but if you have any questions about Einstein, I'm a current first year and would be happy to help as I am procrastinating studying for a quiz. :) I'm just starting to get used to Einstein so I may not have all the answers, but let me know if...

2015-2016 Baylor College of Medicine Application Thread

+1. Baylor used to be my first choice, now it's dropped very low and I'll be attending somewhere else. Sad. If their admissions office hadn't been so terrible this year maybe I'd stay on the waitlist.

On the contrary, last year the HPWL didn't even start moving until mid April, this year they at least starting accepting people from it in March. I know that doesn't help you, but keep your chin up. They're still not to the April 30 deadline yet, after that I imagine the waitlist would see the...

The admissions office just sent out an email that all the Service and Research scholarships have been awarded. Have the majority of people even gotten their financial aid packages yet? I haven't...

What time is best to travel overseas during application cycle?

I submitted my primary app on the first day available and spent all of June in Costa Rica. It was great because it takes about a month to get verified anyway, and it was the perfect break before secondaries start flowing.

Any off-campus students lurking? I'm going to have to live off campus for at least the first year. I guess it'll depend on where exactly I live, but how easy is it to access Einstein via public transport? Or, is there enough parking around to drive?

They weren't very good about informing people. I had to find all the information on heir website, and when I still had questions and emailed the financial aid people they weren't very good about answering. :/ Basically you have the FAFSA, then you send them a financial aid questionnaire you can...

Does anyone actually know how we're supposed to send in the questionnaire? Print it out and fax it? And I guess the same applies for submitting tax returns?

Worst medical school interview experience you've had?

One of my interviews was a very off-putting experience purely because the guy didn't seem to be interested in me at all. He walked in, said a few words to me, then interrupted me when he got a phone call and had a five minute conversation about things completely unrelated to medicine. Then he...
