What fields have a realtively lower percentage of Medicare patients?

What's a competitive cardiology fellowship applicant?

So that basically gives someone 6 months to start a project, during which maybe one or two months are available to do research? Plus getting letters of rec? - That sounds impossible. I guess the better option is to apply during third year.

What route of IM can give me the least stressful, most comfortable lifestyle?

Uh, I'm not a man and I would like to spend more time at home - that is why I said I prefer hours to money

Soon to complete IM, want to switch to rads

WAIT - what about funding issues for a rads spot after completing 3 yrs of IM? How can you get a spot without LOR from Rads guys if you have not done any electives?

What route of IM can give me the least stressful, most comfortable lifestyle?

I chose IM kind of by default (grades were decent, but didn't really know what else to do) Anyway, I'm interested in finding out what would be the least stressful, most comfortable lifestyle (and by lifestyle I prefer better hours over money - to a point, I would still like to make at least...

    lifestyle of heme-onc

Are you saying that this guy, for the most part, works 4 days a week? So, compared to other IM specialties (GI, Cards), would you say Heme/Onc is the least stressful? What are the job prospects for Heme/Onc? Is the lifestyle of Heme/Onc comparable to RadOnc?

Switching from Internal medicine to Pediatrics? - Good idea?

WOW - you and I are very smiliar in that regard, I basically went with the flow and choose IM, moslty by default. I have yet to start PGY-1 but starting to regret approaching my choice so lazily. Anyway I loved Pediatrics but only did the core and no electives in med school, would it still be...

Changing residency programs ... IM to Anesthesia

Interesting topic as I am about to start PGY-1 in IM but have severe doubts that I made the right choice, problem is I only ever did one gas rotation in school - but I did love it. My question would be what route would I have to go to get a spot in Anesthesia from my intern year of IM? Should I...

    Sleep pathway for IM

Do you know of any programs that take IM residents? What does someone need to be a good applicant? You said its a side activity, so could it be done on the side if I am a hospitalist? Would I just join an existing sleep practice?

    Sports Medicine Fellowship

How commonly do those who complete IM residencies obtain Sports Medicine Fellowships? Are they competitive to get? Once you get it, what kind of practice can one have? Thanks.

    Interest in Occupational Medicine

No, for most programs, you need to complete an intern year and then do an occ med residency OR you can treat it like a fellowship type deal and go into it after completing IM (at least that is what I have read so far)

    Technology Question about Smartphone

So I went looking and the best apps to have appear to be 1. free version of Epocrates 2. Medscape 3. LabTests. 4. diagnosaurus Any other suggestions. I plan on keeping my Pocket Medicine rather than spending another $40 for a yearly subscription as an app.

    Technology Question about Smartphone

Bear with me, as I am a technology *****. More info on my situation: already use AT&T service, so I guess I would go with iphone if all that matters cost wise is the service contract - I read I would have to pay additional ~$30/month for internet service. The question I have is what apps are...
