I understand that Australia (and other countries?) have recently eased restrictions for IMG's (ie anyone who is not a native Australian) to practice in rural underserviced areas. Has anyone been through getting a license there?

Is there any problem participating in the scramble tomorrow if you enrolled and did not match :( in NRMP but did not enroll in ERAS?

Is it possible to send applications independently to program directors without using ERAS if one has sent ones ROL to NRMP? Can one get matched this way? Any downside to this?

I am wondering what happens if you send in your ROL and you have no interviews, no applications sent or incomplete applications? If they do not fill their quotas, will they ask you to submit an application or what?

Thanks so much. Your advice makes sense. Why think either/or when you can think both. I am thinking of applying through ERAS sometime between today and the deadline with the hope of finding a late position or going through the scramble. Any fallacy to this logic?
