A cap on graduate plus loans is needed. The lack of a cap has encouraged higher prices as well as the opening of many cash grabbing private schools. Supposedly the president wants to work on that cap but we will see.
I saw an *ad* from Wingate today saying that they are dropping the PCAT requirement. That makes at least two expensive private schools. Think about it. If schools are dropping that requirement and are advertising like that, what is probably going on with the profession?
Today I got an ad for Wingate that boasted that PCAT is no longer required. That makes two expensive private schools (that I know of). It literally is turning into pulse + $200k to be admitted.
There is one school in Texas that threw out the PCAT requirement in order to fill seats at $40k a year or whatever they charge. The situation is really bad and I would recommend you look into something else. What do you like doing? What do you have experience with?
He's still going to deny it and call us trolls. Is he in total denial or is he a dean at a pharmacy school (projecting with his comment that people are paid to "troll" ) ?
Agree on asking P4s/new grads/hiring managers. Heck, call pharmacies and ask how many apps they are getting. Others are going to be clueless if they haven't looked for a job in a while and will assume everything is awesome (like baby boomers who have no concept of how much more expensive school...
The sticky implies that people don't want to do VA, military, or Indian health. But that's not really true. VA is very hard to get into, as well as military bases. Indian health is variable but even the most remote places get a lot of applications still
Don't let it consume you. I witnessed ridiculous cheating in both undergrad and pharmacy school. In undergrad I tried to report it but was told to back off for fear of a lawsuit. In pharmacy school I went with a group to report what was happening. It was more of the same nonsense. Schools only...
We may not be $35 yet, but I don't believe all your friends are getting $60+. My Dallas retail friends are generally telling me that 2018 grads got $5/hr *less* than 2012 grads, as well as only getting 32 hours / week.
How in the world is it going to get better in 2025??? The number of new grads keeps growing every year while the number of jobs is not. Why would you lie to someone like that?
