    Memes of Podiatry

Not surprising. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you rewrite the standards. CPME changed its standard on APMLE board pass rates last year. *They also don’t publish their Conflicts of Interest or recusal from votes on Council decisions.

Look and see what articles the faculty/director wrote. Then look at their references. Then you know what they’re reading.

When to hold 'em, when to fold 'em

10-12 SDN posters mostly specialize in digging an imaginary grave for podiatry and then dancing on that grave by taking credit for, and relishing in, their perceived success in limiting future competition by painting a picture of doom and gloom for those interested in a career in podiatry. The...

    The SDN Effect?

The way I read CPME 120 standards, schools must demonstrate at least a 75% pass rates on APMLE Part I (cumulative, and averaged over 3 years). If someone is aware of students graduating without passing Part I, you should use the CPME 925 form and make a complaint.

    Memes of Podiatry

They were actually under the 70% threshold (69%) for first-time test takers, then CPME changed the metric to “overall” test-takers and voilá! 71%. Guess who sits on CPME? The Dean of SMU. But CPME doesn’t publicly disclose their COIs or recusals, so you’ll never know what happened in the...

    Happy Doctors Day!

Happy National Doctors Day to all of you, even the self-loathing ones who don't feel like real doctors ... March 30 was chosen as National Doctors Day because it is the anniversary of the first time general anesthesia was used in surgery, March 30, 1842...

    Podiatry in Europe

Bon jour from Lyon France meeting with podiatry schools from Europe (there are 51!) about raising the standards of education to create more opportunities for career mobility within the EU (as is European law). Interesting to learn about the current state of educational affairs here and how we...
