    a few major families. emory, piedmont, wellstar, northside, st joes. Everybody wants to live in Atlanta so pay mediocre. Supply>demand. Also smaller fish are in the periphery. they are affiliated with one of the above. check it out. A lot of PE there but transitioning to employment models.

    I suspect the AMC's have their own locums agencies (under different names) and its just another way for them to take 20% off the top AND try to reel in doc costs. It's a way to fix salaries.

    our hospital OR and ASC(HOPD) and endo is basically a commode for private guys. All we see are fattys, ASA 3,4's, dialysis pts, medicare, medicaid...Stuff that can't or wont be done at an ASC. i don't see how it's sustainable for hospitals....i guess with patient complexity, the operative time...
