Never said surgery, but if there’s a callous I wouldn’t want cortisone around it.

If I’m reading your post correctly “For last month or so reporting pain seemed to be regressing”…..why inject anything? Check an X-ray to see if it’s healed and not a non-union. Don’t assume it’s healed.

when you have him on the table you will see the hardware on fluoroscopy and inject away from hardware if you are concerned

there is a nuance to these hip injections.....the contrast has to spread a certain way in the capsule and sometimes you need to pull back 1-2mm to get it. Perfectly visualized in a couple of the pics above. My only variation is that my needle is in line with the femoral neck and aiming...

If you can’t palpate the femoral artery, maybe you shouldnt be doing injections. Contrast should be mandatory.

I’ll do it once…..45 degrees from Inferolateral aporoach starting distal of femoral neck, and have patient hold their own pannus. Always with fluoro.

Did they already claw it back or are they trying to clawback? There’s no way to have some fun with them? Without wasting your time?
