How will you all deal with scheduling interviews if you get more than you can reasonably handle? Will you drop interviews lower on your list or just stop scheduling new ones? what's an appropriate amount of notice to give a program if you are going to drop an interview

Yeah, my hospital does the combined emergency general surgery. The attendings rotate through trauma, ACS and ICU (usually they cover ICU/ACS at the same time). I just wanted to get more details and specifics, because there really isn't that much info out there for this field

No, you are probably right I won't ask an NP. I have much greater access to physicians at my university. But for the sake of completeness, NP is an option. Also, more and more states are allowing NPs to practice and prescribe independent of physician oversight. Last time I saw it was 21 states
