    CSULB or UNC

I am a UNC grad and can vouch for the quality of its PT program. However, I will advise you to stay in CA and take advantage of the in-state tuition in your home state.

American Vet Student Interested in Practicing in UK?

It probably depends on the circumstances of the moment. If the country is not short of vets, it may decline to issue the visa.

American Vet Student Interested in Practicing in UK?

Aside from the licensing issues, you will also need to secure a visa that allows you to work in that country. Europe has much higher unemployment than the US and they protect their market by being very stingy with work visas. I worked overseas for several years and in several countries so I know...

    Potential DPT Earnings

Other streams of income: it's always fun if you can make some money off your hobbies, which seems to be photography in your case. It'd be very hard to break into the stock photo market because your pictures will be lost among millions of others. In your shoes, I'd offer to shoot some baby...

    Potential DPT Earnings

OP - It's enlightening how the non-trads (Azi, starrsgirl) recommend PA over PT. I'm a non-trad also and have had several careers before starting PT school. I was fortunate to live in a state that gives grants to folks going into medical professions so I didn't have to take on loans. The school...

If you weren't in pharmacy (or going into it), what careers would you consider?

Here is another data point. I have actually lived on both sides of the fence: I was working in the software industry for a giant tech company in a medium-COL city on the East Coast. My salary was about $120K-$130K (variation is due to yearly bonuses). I had about 16 years' experience but they...

    Studying for the NPTE

@Losangelesman - we get it, you're looking for NPTE study partners. There is no need to spam every thread with your request.

Online video study sessions as a DPT student

I used it to connect with one other classmate every day for a couple of hours, when we were prepping for the NPTE. It can be quite effective if you have clear objectives for each meeting; otherwise it quickly becomes a BS session where you talk about travel, sports, politics, girls/guys...

    Physical therapy and toileting

PM me anytime. I think you'll like HH.

    Pondering a career change.....kindly opine

OP - I was way older than you when I switched careers to PT. As for your questions: - Job security: yes, pretty good job market overall, currently. Of course, desirable areas will have some degree of saturation, esp if there are lots of DPT programs in the vicinity. - Are most PTs happy...

Anyone Else Unable to Find Work as a Pharmacist?

    I have a T-shirt that says "I is a college student". Can I join your start-up?

    Physical therapy and toileting

Good to see you back... I went straight to HH upon graduation and have not had to do toileting - at least up to now.

Dual degree in pharmacy and physician assistant studies

It's a dumb idea, and folks who sign up for these programs are even dumber. You can't work as a PA and as a pharmacist at the same time.

    "Totally Inapropriate" question

I don't see why that question would be considered as inappropriate. The only explanation would be that the supervisor thought your co-worker asked the question in an ironic way, i.e., "don't they teach you fall prevention methods in PT school, for you to let a patient fall?"

Certificate of Additional Qualification in Holistic Manual Therapy

Anytime I hear the word "holistic" in the field of medicine, I crank up my BS-detector one notch. While I respect and fully support the holistic philosophy (treat the whole person and not just the symptoms), that field is chock-full of quacks who prey on naive or desperate people. As for your...
