    Psychiatrists in Sleep

Psychiatrists make excellent sleep physicians and are really needed. I would argue OSA is the easiest of the major sleep disorders and is largely going to home testing. The techs diagnose it correctly 95% of the time. Insomnia is way more common and a lot more difficult than bland OSA...

    Psychiatrists in Sleep

I didn't take it. Restarted my psychiatry practice and built up. Now I am doing 40 hours a week sleep with some psychiatry as well and another psychiatrist does about 15 hours but will start about 30 hours starting next week now that he is boarded as of today. We hope to hire another sleep...

Is there a role for Xyrem in refractory insomnia?

It had to be a joke. You can make an excuse and say you are treating the pain or something else which is in turn leading to secondary insomnia.

    Board Certification in Psychiatry

Because you failed it once already or have they changed the date again? Retesters, late testers etc are at a disadvantage usually and have lower rates of passing. High prite scores correlate very well with passing as do low scores. Middle scores don't tell you much.

    OLD IMG with BAD scores

I hate to say it but maybe go through a PA program? That way they can either stay in that field or do a residency later by getting a job in an academic center, proving themselves. Better than sitting around.

    Scope of psychiatry

I understand why some you think this is a bad idea but I have an alternate view on it. These physicians wouldn't serve the same role as a fully functional PCP with a panel of 2-3000 patients or more. But this would make these physicians much better trained for working where they are the only...

    Scope of psychiatry

When I ran an inpatient unit, I was the primary care physician. I was responsible for everything including managing HTN, cholesterol, headaches, pain and whatever else came my way. I had to be comfortable with ECGs and to a lesser but some degree, radiologic studies. But if the patient had...

Is there a role for Xyrem in refractory insomnia?

I have multiple poster disorder not biposter disorder. It's the only explanation.

Is there a role for Xyrem in refractory insomnia?

That was the quote I was referring to. The older post and the current post are however, related which would lead you back to the my question. Why do you care (and ask questions about xyrem) if as your previous post indicates...you don't care. As far as irritability. I am being harassed by a...

Is there a role for Xyrem in refractory insomnia?

Plus why do care. Didn't you think sleep wasn't part of psychiatry? And its amazing how quickly you became an attending.
