    Letters of recommendation

I agree with the first answer. Apply sending the required documentation and your strong letter. Throw in one of the other letters too. Once the other "stronger" letters come out you can put them in and the programs will receive the updated application.

    Army Infectious disease?

You would probably get more info if you contacted the recruiters. They are usually very responsive and able to give direct answers. I was interested in it for a while, but because I am on a J1 Visa status, I was unable to apply. When I was looking up this option, they seemed to have many...

Brooklyn Hospital for Core Rotations vs Luthern (NYU langone) vs Morristown

I might be biased because I work here, but students enjoy rotating at Morristown. Lots of learning potential, it's not crowded, and I believe they have parking near the hospital.

Official 2018-2019 Infectious Disease Application Cycle

IMG here. I applied to 46 programs. Probably too many, but I don't have any geographical constraints, so why not. Good luck everyone! 7/16: U Mass 7/17: U Conn 7/18: UIC, USC, MUSC

    J1 visas - annual DS-2019?

The reason why you need to renew your DS2019 every year is because the government needs to know you are still hired by someone sponsoring your program. So yes, you need to renew the DS2019 every year. And like previous posts stated, if you leave the US, you need to make your DS2019 travel...

IMGs Applying to Internal Medicine. 2018

Not true. Programs care very little about Step 3. You can take it, and it would make your application more attractive, but won't hurt your chances if you don't. On top of that, it seems you are doing other activities that will boost your application a lot more. That said, it is a relatively...

    Mexican Residency to U.S. Residency

Entirely dependent on USMLE scores. Some programs might be slightly interested in her experiences, but once she has interviewed. An MPH would make her more competitive in some programs. Not sure about the citizenship. But permanent residency (aka GreenCard) is always a plus when applying to...

Are there any countries were a US trained doc can work?

I've heard about Australia and New Zealand. But don't know anyone who has done it.

    DIT worth it?

DIT worked for me a lot. Took from a 230ish to a whooping 249 as a step 1 score

    AMO worldwide

I didnt follow up on the guys on AMO, but I got to ask a friend here in Peru that did a rotation in Harvard with them, and said that they are ok (but this is a medical student, not an IMG). Then I made some research on other similar services. Check out the following...

How long can I/should I take for STEP 2 CK?

Good to know. I am going to do them anyway. How long did they take you? and how many hours a day did you invest. I am planning on doing them in 3-4 months, together with Uworld questions, and the last month maybe do DIT as a revision.

How long can I/should I take for STEP 2 CK?

Hello, I was wondering how long would it take me to do Kaplan videos and First Aid together with Uworld to study for the STEP 2 CK? Do you guys thing it will take me more than 4 months? Take another NBME?

You have done enough. practicing more NBMEs isnt going to help you at this point. But you should check your wrong NBME answers to identify what went wrong and try to avoid that same mistake in the real test. Im sure that after all you have studied, those NBME answers were answered incorrectly...
