    Question from a PCP

Interestingly enough, I have the tough conversation with literally every pain patient taking anything but the occasional Norco. I have successfully weaned every person from chronic long acting, high dose narcotics that has come to me (not a lot) in the last 2 years. My worry is being inundated...

    Question from a PCP

I in no way intended to offend. I'm just relaying what we are facing in our area with the folks that offer themselves up as pain management. That's all. As for what I've done in the past? I wean, and have been fairly successful. That said, I'm not sure how I'm going to do that for 400...

    Question from a PCP

Next question. We have an anesthesiologist that does ESI, but that's it. If we were trying to get a multi-disciplinary pain center going, I was thinking fellowship trained pain med and Addiction med, with psych. Still researching Addiction Psych to see if that would work. Thoughts?

    Question from a PCP

And, oh by the way, I work in the ONLY state (that I know of) that doesn't have a Prescription Drug Database program.

    Question from a PCP

I sincerely appreciate the responses. I'm in a rather difficult situation. I work in an area where there are very few docs in a 30 mile radius, and I have patients that range from having no indoor plumbing and struggle with ANY transportation, all the way to retired Wall Street guys, etc...

    Family medicine Lifestyle

I work rural primary care in an outpatient only setting as part of a mid-range sized health system. I'm in a very underserved area, and am about to be the sole provider so only getting busier. That said, I work 4 days a week in that clinic 8-5 and one day a week in our wound healing center...

    Question from a PCP

I'm curious as to how many fellowship trained Pain Medicine physicians actually prescribe medications, or if what we are seeing in my area is the norm? Basically, referral to a "Pain Management" physician is futile, as unless the patient is wanting a procedure, they are refused any treatment...

Doing some research on collaborative agreements.

I'm specifically wondering what trends are out there with regard to physician compensation for oversight of NP's. If you are willing to share, I'd certainly appreciate it. I've avoided being a collaborator to this point due to lack of incentives, but my hand may be forced sooner than later...

How much do family doctors actually earn? Right after residency?

    Salary questions

30/rvu for a conversion factor is very low unless your base is somewhere around 210-215. Then I might understand it What's a 99211 or 99212? Never billed one of those. :) I see all INR checks 99213 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How much do family doctors actually earn? Right after residency?

AMEN! I chose this path for many reasons, but chief among them was the fact I could work M-F with basically banker's hours and be home every night, not carrying a pager and have dinner with my family and help out with the kids. Time with my kids cannot be bought, and I'm quite pleased with my...

Which 2014 MCAT score would serve my student better?

I'll just say I'd personally rather see someone with physical disabilities to help me make healthcare decisions. Testing accommodations for learning disabilities for docs? Really?

Which 2014 MCAT score would serve my student better?

I think I'd try to do it honestly. Not like you get accommodated for patient care.

Family medicine not a lifestyle specialty?

I would love to meet all these nurses making over 100K. Hell...even 80K. I'm married to one, and the most she's ever made is in the 60K range. Sure, if you work two jobs plus overtime, I could see it, but I see this referenced often (often by pre-meds) on here, but have no personal knowledge...
