    quitting fellowship

No ACGME protected work hours during fellowship so you work as long as they need you. It is more taxing and harder than a tough IM residency. Frequent long calls. Q2-4 24 hour shifts often lasting longer than 24 hours. STEMI call? Yeah no thanks lol

    Is outpatient really that bad?

How sure are you about that last sentence? Attendings in person and legit "financial advisors/CPAs" on YT give excellent break down showing how you can benefit from tax reductions. The top .0001% definitely do it in similar fashion. But I will take your advice and speak with a CPA before my...

    Is outpatient really that bad?

lets say I wanted to only do locums and get paid to my s-corp/llc. that means i have to provide health/dental/retirement/etc except malpractice which the locum agencies usually provide. Working nights 7 on 14 off, for example, will I get paid more through my s-corp or by being employed...

    Job market in 2023

@AJFKPU I know you did IM and had difficulty finding a job while you were in fellowship. Any input to the above would be greatly appreciated.

    Job market in 2023

I hate to start a new thread on this but... I am a PGY3 internal medicine resident who has been deciding between sports medicine and rheumatology. I understand they are quite different subspecialties after doing brief electives in both. There is a great PCSM fellowship at my home program. My...

    Allergy/Immunology

I have a question regarding A/I fellowship. I’m a Pgy2 IM resident now interested in allergy. When I made my schedule at the end of last year, I had a different fellowship in mind and didn’t schedule any allergy elective for this year. If my program is unwilling to switch an elective, what would...

IMGs Applying to Internal Medicine. 2018

What is the general consensus on taking Step 2 CK later than the end of July? My understanding is if you take it by the end of July, program directors should be able to see your scores by the time they start seeing applications on September 15th. Is this accurate? I'm trying to see if I...

Step 2CK & Uworld review question

I'd love to do that but I won't have the time. If I had a really good foundation I would be doing that :[

Step 2CK & Uworld review question

Did you find that to be beneficial in your overall review?

Step 2CK & Uworld review question

I'll have gone through a first pass during dedicated study for step 2ck but definitely wont have time to go through it again. I have also done an NBME and will do a UWSA soon. About how long do you guys think it will take to go through the "educational objectives" for all 2400 questions?

No FM LORs and FM residency?

FM was my first rotation as an M3. I don't think my performance was poor during the rotation, I just feel as if my other rotations were stronger which is why I was apprehensive to ask my FM attending for a letter. My attending was super chill and I think I took the rotation lightly because of...

    FMGs in PM&R?

Unfortunately, if I remember correctly, majority of them now require VSAS. A lot of IMGs don't have that luxury.
