What a rollercoaster of emotions. I went from being a non-trad applicant for med school to matching into GI. Life is incredible.

Official 2023-2024 Gastroenterology Fellowship Application Cycle

It's highly variable. What I've gathered is that some of the higher tier programs I applied to have given me heads up that there application review process might not even be done until mid-august and to expect news around Aug. 15.

Life after med school / residency

I've exercised more in med school than ever. Believe me, you'll find time if you use exercise as your getaway from work instead of netflix.

I'm not sure what the protocol is there, but I haven't heard of graduate certificate program offers based upon your place on the waiting list.

I had the same thing happen when I interviewed a couple years back. Sometimes, the security guards don't remember the requests from the school. Just tell OSA (Office of Student Affairs) and they'll take care of it for you.

You should expect a lot more contact from administration after the decision day this year. Typically, administrations won't make you go through all the paperwork until they know you're coming. If you must, get started on being up to date on your immunizations and TB screenings. Aside from that...

You'll get the paperwork some time after the decision day. That's when they typically begin to send out matriculation paperwork. The school is graded with alphanumeric grading. For those most part, you can consider anything above an 80% as a pass and not worry about a thing. Between 75-80% is...

For those accepted: don't forget your matriculation paperwork when the time comes. Aside from that, enjoy enjoy enjoy this summer. Go out and have some fun, or sleep in all day (although that seems like a giant waste). Come ready, med school is a crazy experience. Thankfully, there are some...
