    Bayside Anesthesia Medical Group

This is about as manipulative as you can get. 9-10 years before becoming a full partner? There is a nationwide shortage of anesthesiologists. No one should put up with this.

    Bayside Anesthesia Medical Group

I can’t speak for the market in the area, but in general this sounds like a terrible job. OR utilization in most hospitals is pretty lousy. If they run at 75% efficiency (very best you can likely hope for) then you are getting $225/hr now and $300/hr as a partner. I would expect around 65-70%...

What does combat zone tax loopholes have to do with USAP Colorado? I missed the connection…

Colorado AG canceled USAP noncompetes in CO

And ending the non-compete shouldn't necessarily end the hospital contract. I have to assume these hospitals wanted out of their USAP contract but had no other place to go to get services. Now they can hire the former USAP employees and/or those employees can form their own group and continue...

Colorado AG canceled USAP noncompetes in CO

Maybe all the former Centura hospitals want to take anesthesia in-house and the HCA hospitals are not as eager???

What’s the job market in Atlanta ?

If you are in the private forum there's a very recent chat on the topic. It's short, but consider starting there.

    Anesthesiology attending malpractice insurance

How much is tail coverage typically? I had been told that the rule of thumb is that it’s about 3x what your yearly premium. Is that a reasonable guesstimate?

Hinsdale IL? And other near Chicago groups?

Not sure about the current situation, but I worked at a hospital on the border of Indiana and Illinois. Since there wasn’t a close hospital in Illinois our hospital had a contract to accept Illinois Medicaid/Medicare. Except the state of Illinois was 18+ months behind on paying. Government...

How long to stay at first job

I think a reasonable response to getting pimped by surgeons would be to nicely answer their questions then delay their next case for an hour and a half. Then go into the room during surgery and tell them all about the patient on the table. The more ridiculous the details the better. Maybe after...

Any private equity lobby on reimbursement?

What is the typical billing rate? Is there an industry standard or does everyone negotiate that on their own as well?

Hinsdale IL? And other near Chicago groups?

With the amount of money they are paying for locums it would be far better short and long term to offer a 75th percentile wage and a large sign on bonus to get people in the door. If 1 locum FTE is costing in the neighborhood of 1M, offering a salary of 650k + 250k sign on for a 3 year...

LOCUMS anesthesia agencies, the good, the bad and the ugly

I don’t object to moving this to the private forum, I’m just wondering why we can’t name drop recruiters in the open forum. If you provide crappy service in most industries, word gets around and you deserve to lose business.

    UDS positive for PCP

If they had a previous positive test and now you run a UDS pre surgery because they were previously positive, you’ve got to cancel. It would have been acceptable to proceed without the test, but once you’ve chosen to run it, you need to make a decision based on the results.

    Death aboard an airplane

This has to be terrible to witness. Most/all of us have seen this happen in a hospital setting and remember it vividly. Imagine witnessing it on an airplane. This could have been a conference full of world renowned physicians and he’d have still died just as quickly. Nice of the media to make it...
