I have a friend who has a background in healthcare management and an MBA, she has been in healthcare for 10yrs.Now she wants to be a PA , and was asking if she would need to do her prerequisites in biology etc again
Her bacholers and masters are like 8 -10 yrs back
Thank you
oh yes dealt with a LOT of that
3 options
1-steer the course if no harm is done or expected [rarely]
2 -be a total a$$ and tell them how it is [10%]
3- show little interest in following previous doc recs and I can only do so much as thats how I'm trained. You are welcome to a 2nd opinion [90%]
also lower expectations I cannot stress that enough
I have seen over the yrs lots of young docs esp FP/IM start off thinking they are hot $hit and then when they can't satisfy patients demands get frustrated
HUGE red flag
I would not prescribe it , its a band aid approach to weight loss
I tell most of my patients , weight loss involves lot of discipline , doing things you don't enjoy and eating food that don't particularly taste that great
If they come for me for stimulants I almost ALWAYS refuse
why don't FM docs who want to work ER partner with ER physicians
85% of the cases in most ER can be handled by FM doc
and the ER doc can handle the other 15%
its a win win for everyone
Are there any conferences /meetings for primary care physicians only [ not midlevels ] ? Not talking about CME s necessarily but meet ups where physicians can meet /discuss their practices /bounce off ideas/network etc
Thanks
I was wondering if anyone here is still doing telemed ? and if so have you adjusted your malpractice insurance to cover telemed visits ?
I think in primary care it is esp problematic as its easy to miss initial diagnosis w/o exam
Any recs on which telemed employer ?
Thanks
Hi
Got an offer to work for an occupational medicine position
