    Inr cutoff for shoulder blocks

If the surgeon is willing to operate and it’s deemed safe/acceptable…I’m very likely doing the block.

What’s the final tax burden on that look like? Just keep rolling profit into future investments until…? Similar to 1031ish then.

I try to keep six months of expenses in cash, probably have a touch over that now with the 4.7% vanguard savings rate. Also have HELOC already set up and available within 2-3 days.

Asset Allocation for everyone? This international talk has me thinking…I’ve been into international index funds since reading bogleheads/wci coming out of residency. I’m late 30s. Not including real estate equity. US Large Cap: 66% US Mid Cap: 7% US Small Cap: 3% International: 15% BTC: 2%...

    FTC bans non competes

TN cannot employ anesthesiologists, emergency medicine physicians, and radiologists directly due to some law (probably lobbied by the AMCs in the 90s). While this will take a while to be litigated, maybe it’ll prevent some attempted enforcement? That’s all that really matters if so.

Is credit card churning worth the hassle

Easily 10M in manufactured spending over a 10 year period. I guess isn’t the same as “churning” so I should have clarified. It’s an exhausting game. And that’s child’s play compared to the real pros.

Is credit card churning worth the hassle

I've done well into the eight figures worth of churning, all types and varieties of schemes during residency and then continued a bit as an attending. Not worth the time as an attending as many mentioned above. And not nearly as lucrative as it used to be. And if there is some gem out there, you...

If your loans are paid off already as a resident…don’t forget to take some nice vacations during training and live a little. You’ll be more than ok once you hit attending salary.

Not from a salary, private practice buyout, AMC perspective…but RE yep. Guess we can’t have it all.

    Be ahead of the curve

Sold all of my BTC and ETH last year to pay my tax bill. Thought I was getting out at a decent time at 30k-ish. 😔

    Anesthesiologist shortage

Hospitals and c-suites continue to assume that because they’re making money, that we’re making money. Not sure if it’s incompetence or ignorance, but they’ll learn one way or another…

    USAP-answer to cheaper labor

Does the sponsoring hospital not get the money for the residents? In places with lots of layers of call I also see this increasing the call burden of the attendings vs crnas.

    Take Medicine Back

We can take medicine back all we want, but I have a hard time believing that in todays environment with NSA, payors playing dirty and cutting contracts, and the insane amount of red tape groups have to go through that we'll ever see anything but the massive groups and hospital systems taking...
