Hans, could you post a stickly on transitional programs? :) I really want to get one, but don't want to apply to 40 or so. Also, what do they look for in applicants? I REALLY want to avoid a prelim year in medicine or surg. Also what's the best was to assess the malignancy of these programs?

Just wondering what the applicant pool might be looking like. 10% of my class is going into rads, which is 10 people. Anyone else have big numbers?

How often do you get called in? What sort of problems does an oto resident face late night? Does the call primarily come from the impatient service, or is it ER stuff as well?

I was just wondering how many hours oto residents work. I hear it varies widely from place to place with the more intense academic centers making residents work harder. What's the call like? When does the typical day end? Just curious.

Anyone else find otomatch a very tense place? I know the match must be stressful, but things on there seem pretty charged. Anyone else agree?

Soothe my pain... I'm a 3rd year med student who just got his Medicine grade back and it was a "Pass," not even a "High Pass." Worse yet, all I've gotten have been P's all through medical school. Hopefully Surgery will treat me better. Will I be able to get in somewhere... were you residents...

Jesus. I live there now and its not that bad. Also, no 2nd years live here. You get used to it, and you know your classmates a lot better, plus there's undergrads here too from Cornell doing research.
