First year can be very tough with long hours and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed. I would wait a little longer before deciding to quit. There are a ton of people out there who would do anything to be in your shoes.
Agreed. Starting is approx 50k more. Earning potential for IC is more obviously but yeah STEMI call is a heavy price to pay unless one absolutely loves IC.

Fellowship is mostly about self studying and looking up stuff yourself. Don’t expect to be spoon fed. Feel free to ask an attending when you get stuck or want to clarify something.
I wouldn’t drop out. There are thousands of people who would do anything to be in your shoes.
Better to spend an extra year doing research/HF/preventive cardiology than doing Nephrology.
Nephrology is an okay track for those trying to back door into critical care, not cards.
