Physician Assistant pursuing MBA (Healthcare Management)

Essentially, a biotech investment banker plays a crucial role in connecting biotech companies with the funding and financial strategies they require to grow and succeed: Mergers & Acquisitions: e.g., Pfizer acquiring Seagen for $43 billion - In $43B buy, Seagen courted Pfizer and played the...

Physician Assistant pursuing MBA (Healthcare Management)

Oh man, oh man! All these years have passed since 2014... I opted for PA school over medical school when I graduated, and worked for a few years; then, I completed an MBA and moved to NYC, where I now work as a biotech investment banker

Attending vs MBB: Lucrative consulting exits/career paths?

It all depends on your long-term goal. 1. MBB consulting would be much more worth it in the long-term if you're career-oriented; nonetheless, the MBB partner track takes about 10-12 years, then you can essentially lateral to a senior VP role of a healthcare/life sciences company 2. Also...

All my preceptors have been primarily MD's which I prefer & enjoy (worked w/ PA's during rotation on the side - rounded with one on the stroke ICU, inpatient surgery, etc great experiences.) I chose PA school over MD/DO!? AMA

Pretty sure it's just hard for premeds to believe that some may not want to do it regardless of underlying reasons. And if one doesn't pursue it they're somehow not capable and/or making a wrong choice. Quite hilarious to say the least & somehow this thread blew up turning into a versus debate.

I chose PA school over MD/DO!? AMA

Indeed. Very disappointing to see some future physicians on the forum act the way they do now. I have nothing but respect, I'ma laid back kinda guy, and I'm pretty sure I pointed that out in every post I made, but it just doesn't get through. There were some misunderstandings in some posts I've...

I chose PA school over MD/DO!? AMA

Not sure how not taking the MCAT implies I misinformed people. It was a decision made beforehand. I think I know what is, which isn't hard to believe, I'm assuming y'all wanted to see me kill the MCAT then........decide for PA school huh? To see if I was even "competent" to get into med school...

And I use to think just like this up until my junior/senior year in college.

I chose PA school over MD/DO!? AMA

Yes not easy, however I think it's indeed doable, if most of the focus is trying to attend a TOP MBA program in which many companies recruit at that school, shouldn't be a problem, of course depending on the market. (ie: management consulting is always alive & well - most individuals come from...

I chose PA school over MD/DO!? AMA

Completely understood, & nurses have an inherently stronger lobbying group as well, they do in fact have more opportunity and even can practice independently w/o being under the supervision of a Docs license. I personally was referring to an MBA with a transition into another sector, not...
