I literally made the call while on call last night....lol

    Resident Corrective Action/Probation

Generally programs start with their own version of probation which I have heard people successfully making it through. However when it is descaled to GME, it gets to be almost impossible. I'd jump ship before it got to that point.

    Resident Corrective Action/Probation

I reregistered through ERAS and went through the interview and match. I had a colleague that switched specialties and just sent emails to PD saying he was looking for a PGY-2 position next year. Turns out a lot of programs were expanding and he had some great interviews. There are some specialty...

    Experiences/opinions regarding non-independent call

When I interviewed last year I noticed the great divide of non-independent vs independent call. What I figured out was that people tend to favor whatever their program does. So I don't think it really matters and it didn't influence my rank list at all. Pick the program that you feel comfortable...

Dear OP, I want to thank you for sharing and want commend you for realizing what is important to you and acting on it. I was in a similar (possibly worse) situation so hopefully I can share my experience that could help if anything offer hope. I was in a surgical specialty for 4 years and was...

What is IR schedule and call like?

Thank you for the great responses. Could you give more specifics about the your schedule? Is it in house or home call? If it is home call how many times do you come in on average and what is the range? How long are you on call for (q2,q3,qweek). Are there post call days?

    Non-Clinical Jobs

Yeah $100 per encounter. But's it's more money than if I just sat on the couch. Is there a way to be hired through Medicare to cut out the middle man?

    Resident Corrective Action/Probation

Great question. I didn't really look or find many resources as it is a pretty specific predicament. I did a lot of soul searching in regards to what things do I like and not like about clinical medicine after having significant experience. I tried to find a specialty that fit those things and...

    Non-Clinical Jobs

It's in person, now at least. I am scheduled to go see patients next week. Were you formally approved? They sent me an approval and a bunch of links for payment. I also received an email and spoke with a representative who will be my contact for the company. I'd be persistent and try to contact...

What is IR schedule and call like?

Could someone who has done an IR rotation or is practicing describe what their rotation schedule and their call is like? Specifically nights and weekends?

    Non-Clinical Jobs

A friend recommended the company Signify Health. Many doctors use it as a way to make a little extra money. I applied and was accepted recently and will start in Jan. Basically you do in house home assessments. It requires a medical license and it more like a contract job in relation to benefits...

    .

I had some time before residency and was looking at consulting jobs. I applied to McKinsey and Boston Consulting with no luck. I even had a referral from a friend who works for one the companies. I admit that I initially thought it would be an easy job to get because I figured the supply of MDs...
