Sorry to hear that. Your school should have a counselor to discuss these personal health issues with you, and how to move forward from any unforeseen events in dental school.I just found out I will have to repeat my first year after a rough first semester. I was diagnosed with a learning disability toward the end of the semester and saw improvement (after starting medication) on my finals, but I was too far behind and failed one course and barely passed the rest of the classes which brought my GPA down. Any advice for someone in this situation?
I had a friend and classmate who was hospitalized with acute psychosis during her first year of d school, and she had to repeat the year. She eventually graduated and is now a practicing dentist and is now leading a healthy and productive life. You can too. Talk to your family doctor and explain to him/her about your meds and how they could help with the demanding d school schedule. You just need to take everything by the day from here.
