I just found out I will have to repeat my first year after a rough first semester. I was diagnosed with a learning disability toward the end of the semester and saw improvement (after starting medication) on my finals, but I was too far behind and failed one course and barely passed the rest of the classes which brought my GPA down. Any advice for someone in this situation?
Sorry to hear that. Your school should have a counselor to discuss these personal health issues with you, and how to move forward from any unforeseen events in dental school.

I had a friend and classmate who was hospitalized with acute psychosis during her first year of d school, and she had to repeat the year. She eventually graduated and is now a practicing dentist and is now leading a healthy and productive life. You can too. Talk to your family doctor and explain to him/her about your meds and how they could help with the demanding d school schedule. You just need to take everything by the day from here.
