I had a question regarding class rank. I am a current M1 at one of the more established DO schools. I am interested in psychiatry and family medicine but am worried about my class rank. I had a rough semester, and while I passed all my classes I got two C’a in the heaviest weighted classes. I am worried that this will permanently bring me down. Things are going much better this semester, and I think I will be able to end with at least a high B in all my classes.

My school has grades and the class rank only counts the preclinical years. Also, the quartile is included in the MSPE. I was wondering what my outlook looks like when it comes to matching in psychiatry. Sorry if I am sounding over anxious!

I think class rank is one of those things that can help if you're in the top quartile but doesn't really hurt you if you're in the bottom quartile.
