Any opportunity to observe a PT, whether in a hospital or private clinic setting will give you insight into the profession -- the reason PT programs want you to observe in a variety of settings however, is to show how much PT can vary depending on what environment you work in, so while the link you listed is a great place to start, it can't be the only experience with which you base your opinion of the profession. If you have an "in" at the private clinic, take advantage of the opportunity to observe and follow PTs there. But then, if you are still interested in the profession, take some time to observe at an acute care setting, skilled nursing facility, inpatient, etc. This will give you a greater understanding of what PTs have to offer.
Though you might ultimately want to end up in sports medicine, pediatrics, acute, etc -- it is important that you are comfortable with any position in PT that you might acquire, as fresh graduates don't always have their pick of jobs. So you want to make sure you are prepared for any variability in setting that you may come across during your time as a PT.
