Under what condition(s), if any, do pharmacist pay malpractice insurance?

They pay for it if they don't feel comfortable with their company's insurance plan that covers all pharmacists or they are independent pharmacists.

Not inexpensive in CA....I paid $177 for 2mil/4mil coverage as an employed pharmacist. If self employed (consulting pharmacist - does not apply to owners of pharmacies) & working >20hrs/wk - $476/yr for equiv. coverage. I renew in April so I'll see what the new rates are.
