Is it worth it to go to OT school for $75,000? Especially because it isn't accredited yet?

You have plenty of programs that are accredited. On this merit alone the answer is a stern “No.”

I have a feeling the overall cost may be more than your budgeting. Is this tuition and fees alone or are you considering the following:

1) Rent + utilities + deposit + move-in costs
2) Student Health Insurance
3) Food
4) Books / Supplies / Lab Fees
5) Transportation / vehicle maintenance costs
6) Computer - Program applications
7) Entertainment (yes this can add up)
8) Trips visiting family on school breaks
9) Cost of test materials - Tutoring - Practice Tests
10) Travel costs for interviews once licensed (possibly fly-in round trip interviews)
11) Travel costs to move to new job location once finalized.

Also, are the loans private or grad-plus loans or health professional loans? What’s the interest look like? What’s the job outlook and cost of living look like in your potential area? Are you single or married with kids?

Did you also include your undergraduate debt with this new debt? A lot of factors need to be considered if your passionate on this career path.

If anything, don’t attend a program that has the potential to not become accredited upon graduation with a possible extra six figure debt waiting for you.
