Welcome to the forums!

It helps if we can get more details using the WAMC template

What is your school list (with decisions) with your pending 3 WL's? Where did you grow up in Florida, or did you grow up elsewhere? Can you tell us what specialties you worked as a scribe and an MA? Where are the 500 hours in your calculations above (since only tutoring is over 500 hours)? What are your responsibilities for the Hearts for the Homeless organization? What other community service have you done, especially over this past application year?

  2. MCAT: 517 (130/127/130/130)

  7. Research experience: 150 hours research assistant
  8. Shadowing experience: 50 hours internal med
  9. Non-clinical volunteering: 100 hours H4H (natural disasters committee chair + volunteer doing BP and mental health screens)

Thank you for your list from the last cycle. Good luck with the waitlists.

Why do you think you got so little positive response from other in-state programs? Where did you grow up in Florida?

Thanks! I am not sure, but I grew up in Orlando and Tampa

You had low service to those less fortunate. Florida has a large number of premeds applying every year, but I am still surprised you did not receive an interview at a few more schools like UF or Miami. Some schools such as UNC and Arizona take few OOS students. Work on interview skills as well.

I suggest:

All FL schools
Wake
Emory
VCU
EVMS
University of Rochester
Einstein
NYU LI
University of Vermont
Hofstra
Dartmouth
Hackensack
Jefferson
Temple
Boston
Tufts
UMass
Iowa
Western Michigan
Oakland
Saint Louis
Creighton
Colorado
Belmont
Alice Walton (if it opens this cycle)

Thanks so much for the suggestions and insight. Just one question, would my current MA job not apply as service to those less fortunate?
