CPMC for prelim rocks! Just noted that they only officially round with attending once a week, otherwise you just chat with attending about your patients on the phone. The worst part of medicine avoided. Sweet.

I wouldn't bother doing an away at UCSF. They have a strict USMLE cutoff for interviewing and they won't give you an interview even if rotated there. Not sure what the cutoff is but I have friends who rotated there (both with Step 1s in 220ish I think) and neither got interviews even though at...

unless there was something i missed i did not take the comment on productivity in the presentation to mean that women should be blamed for problems in the future with anesthesia. advancing technology and pure market forces (cheaper labor wins) are to blame for that. i do believe it is true...

Very interesting and definately a good read for all of us entering the field. i first heard about a lot of us when visiting ucsf, dr. miller is a huge proponent of anesthesiologists needing to move into the field of critical care in large numbers to ensure the large scale survival of our specialty.

Big issue for me (although maybe not important to a lot of people) is that there is really no anesthesia research going on at USC which is different compared to every other program in Cali. You will get tons and tons of trauma there if you really like that. One area of relative weakness is...

Apparently I need to clarify...what I was referring to was the fact that some people were saying something to the effect that people should not be foolish enough to, for instance, rank a certain program number 1 solely because that program sent them a warm fuzzy letter. I just thought people...
