    Finding Jobs in Nuclear Medicine

MD DOC: The first step in looking for NM jobs is obviously checking out SNM and ACR websites. In addition, I would recommend buliding strong networking skills during your residency. A great many NM jobs (particularly in private practice) are not advertised and only found by word of mouth...

    Combined Programs

With the recent changes in nuclear medicine training length, I am not sure if completing IM + NM in 4 years is possible anymore. You should contact the ABNM; I am sure they can answer this question for you.

    nuc after internal medicine residency

Indeed. You are not an expert in this field. I am a practicing nuclear medicine physician who had multiple jobs offers at time of graduation. Even now I get offers from recruiters and colleagues who are looking to hire additional staff. At my current place of emplyoment, we have more work than...

    endocrine/nuclear medicine--IMHOTEP

Sorry, I have been away from this forum for awhile... Are two additional years worth it? Not an easy question. For Imhotep, what is good program?

West LA VA program is decent simply because of the location; in a relatively nice part of LA. I dont know anything else about the program :) Yes, UW and UM are great universities, and I'd imagine they have good nuc med programs, but I really do not have any first hand knowledge.

Hey Imhotep--radio vs nuc jobs and imaging study qualifications

As of right now, pure nucmed trained people do not read other diagnostic modalities such as MR, Xray, U/S etc. With the advent, and greater utilization of "fusion imaging" such as PET-CT, SPECT-CT, and PET-MR etc, nucmed folks should be able to read the anatomic aspect of the exam with proper...

For Imhotep, what is good program?

Hi "Water" To maximize your chances of getting a (good) job, I'd recommend getting into the best program that you can. Unlike internal medicine, radiology etc, there isnt an abundance of jobs out there. Having said that, with the proper training background and the right connections, you...

    Pls Help me

Adding (to FW's post) my rudimentry knowledge of the Indian Medical system... The 3 year MD program in radiodiagnosis? is considered "equivalent" to radiology residency in the U.S. I believe there is also a 2 year "diploma", which allows one to practice radiology in India, but it is not...
